Explore a Session
A guided, body-based exploration of what matters to you.
We begin with what is here for you.
❋
You might come with a question about your family, a feeling that keeps returning, or a longing to connect with your roots.
Perhaps you have already explored a lot and still feel there is something you haven’t quite reached. Or you are simply curious.
You don’t need to arrive with the whole story. We take time to find where to begin.
Listening Together
First, I want to hear what brings you here.
As we talk, I may invite you to notice what happens in your body. Perhaps your chest feels tight, your breathing changes, or an emotion comes closer. There may be a memory, an image, or a wish to move.
We stay curious together. You can tell me when something resonates, when it doesn’t, or when you need more time.
Making Space for What Emerges
Sometimes we stay with your own experience. Sometimes our exploration brings us towards a family relationship, a story, or a sense of connection with someone who came before you.
We may use guided imagery, movement, an inner conversation, or a simple ritual. There might be words you want to say, grief you want to acknowledge, or support you would like to feel closer to.
I offer guidance, and we keep checking what feels right for you.
There is room for spiritual experience here, and room for questions. Images and impressions can be meaningful without us needing to decide that they are factual accounts of the past.
There Is Time
We can pause. You can open your eyes, move around, ask a question, or tell me you want to take a different direction.
You don’t need to make something happen.
Part of our work is noticing what helps you feel supported enough to explore—and recognising when you have had enough for today.
Before We Finish
We leave time to settle and notice how you are.
What are you taking with you? Is there something that needs a little more attention? What would help you care for yourself afterwards?
Sometimes there is a clear next step. Sometimes an experience needs time before you know what it means for you.
We make space for both.
“We may not know the whole story of where we come from. There is still room to listen, to find connection, and to choose what we carry forward.” - Nallely Courtney
A Few Questions You Might Have
-
We can begin there. You are welcome with the names and stories you know, and with the gaps, silences, and unanswered questions.
-
We begin by noticing what is here. A sensation may bring an emotion, image, memory, or association into your awareness.
We explore what feels meaningful to you. Sometimes a connection with family or ancestry emerges; sometimes we stay with your present experience. We allow the direction to unfold without deciding in advance what a sensation means.
-
You don’t have to be experienced in this way of working. We take our time and explore what you do notice, however small or ordinary it may seem.
-
You can bring your own understanding. For some people, this work is spiritual. For others, it is a way of exploring family history, culture, and their inner experience.
-
There is room for love, anger, grief, distance, and mixed feelings. You choose what you want to approach. Your boundaries matter throughout.
-
Yes. We can begin with one session and see what feels useful from there.
-
I offer these sessions as ancestral work and somatic coaching. I am also training in Gestalt psychotherapy. If you are unsure whether this is the support you need, we can talk about it before booking.
-
You can share as much or as little detail as you choose. We stay attentive to what feels manageable, making time for grounding, support, and pauses.
You can ask to stop or change direction at any point.
-
There is also space for what sustains you: love, creativity, cultural traditions, spiritual connection, and the people or places that help you feel you belong.
These resources are an important part of our exploration.
-
We leave time to talk about what you need afterwards. You may want quiet, a walk, something to eat, or time to write or rest.
There is no requirement to understand everything immediately. We consider together what would help you return to your day with care.
